Bentley Bentayga Speed: an SUV Built for a Purpose

The new Bentley Bentayga Speed is the current Crewe marque’s fastest SUV in the W12 powertrain line. This completely redesigned Luxury SUV carries the Mulliner Specifications by Bentley.

Let’s start with the exterior, the Bentayga Speed features Dark-tint headlights, body-colored side skirts, unique front and rear bumpers and an elongated spoiler. The front and bumper grilles are dark tinted, while the 22-inch wheels come in two designs. From the rear, the exhaust finishers are now the oval design that signifies a W12 powertrain and of course, dark tinted lights. Bentley offers 17 colors for this SUV with a further 47 hues in the Extended and Mulliner ranges, with an additional 24 duo-tone options. To enhance the Bentayga Speed further, there’s a Black Specification.

The interior comes with a unique Speed color split, predominantly in dark shade. The Speed color split also introduces Alcantara to the cabin of the Bentayga, across the seat cushions and backrest center panels, gear lever, steering wheel, lower knee trim areas, upper pillar trim and headliner. Options to choose trimmings and seat embroidery are available. Additionally, new contrast stitching on diamond quilt comes standard.

Technology highlights for the Bentayga Speed includes a larger 10.9-inch touchscreen, advanced navigation, full digital driver’s information display, and My Bentley in-car and remote connected car services.

Power is derived from a 6.0-liter W12 twin-turbocharged engine to pump 626 bhp and 900 Nm of torque, from 1,500 rpm to 5,000 rpm. A 0 – 100 km/h sprint takes just 3.8 seconds. An 8-speed super shifting gear ensures swift power delivery to the wheels. The Bentayga Speed has four on-road Drive Dynamics modes: Comfort, Sport, Bentley and Custom. The four drive modes work with the Bentley Dynamic Ride, the world’s first electric active roll control technology that utilizes an unrivalled 48V system.

To ensure a fun and tight drive, this Grand Tourer has a well-refined suspension setup and large brakes, with optional carbon ceramic brakes to select from.

The Bentley Bentayga is designated to go on sale in the U.S., Middle East and Asia Pacific. The new Bentayga family will soon be completed by the global launch of the new Bentayga Hybrid.
