Koenigsegg Gemera Set to Make Debut at 2020 Salon Prive Concours d’Elegance
The New Koenigsegg Gemera will be making its debut at the upcoming Salon Prive in the surroundings of Blenheim Palace in late September. The Gemera nametag denotes a Swedish term for ‘give more’ that perfectly compliment the four-seater hypercar with an ability to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds (1.9 seconds).
Although fitted with a 2.0-liter 3-cylinder engine, the Koenigsegg Gemera’s powertrain package also comprised of three electric motors. Together, the powertrain offers a combined output of 1700bhp, with an immense 3500Nm of torque. It drives through the patented single-gear Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) transmission, and even features a lightweight 800V battery that enables the Gemera to run purely on electricity for up to 50 kilometers. The powertrain could push another 550 km range on highway cruise in hybrid mode.
As with all Koenigseggs, the newest hypercar is all about lightweight but adhering to worldwide homologation standards. The Gemera is built entirely on carbon fiber from the monocoque to smaller details. This Koenigsegg’s got six smart airbags, stability control, traction control, ABS and ADAS 2.5, as well as all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering and all-wheel torque vectoring. The rear seats could be fitted with ISOFIX points too, in case you want to take your kids on a thrill ride.
Koenigsegg CEO and Founder Christian von Koenigsegg said, “The Gemera is a game-changing model for Koenigsegg, and we can’t think of anywhere better than Salon Privé to give the car its UK debut. It’s grown into an essential event for the motoring world’s greatest brands, and we’re excited to show off the Gemera to its discerning guests.”
The Koenigsegg Gemera will star alongside big Supercar brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin, Bugatti and Lotus at the Salon Prive from 23 – 26 September.
